From inspiration to melody
Usually, there is a strong emotion that connects me with the song I am writing.
There was a particular service at church where the spirit was moving, everyone was at the altar, I watched the anguish on some of their faces, I could see their hurt in their faces. I see that they needed a touch from the Lord…
So laying in bed trying to go to sleep, all I saw were those faces crying out to God…
The words to this song came in my head and then the tune, so I started putting it together in the wee hours of the morning, their anguish became the lyrics… Wash Me Lord
